We are really excited to share that we have recently been endorsed as a high-quality training provider by Skills for Care, the strategic workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England.
We have enjoyed developing and training our colleagues who work in vital social care and the third sector services. Having worked in the NHS for many years prior to starting Learn with CATO, we knew there was a need for more comprehensive training but the limited resources available meant that it wasn't possible to do this as often as we would have liked.
In line with our personal values as the directors of Learn with CATO, we are a business for social good. As such, in April 2023, we offered up to 2 free spaces to local voluntary, third sector & care provider organisations here in Oxfordshire to complete our Relational Approach to Trauma Informed Care training. The day was well attended with 8 different organisations joining us at the Business and Intellectual Property Centre at Oxford Library.
Anne from Response shared her thoughts with us after attending the training...
I really liked the training, it was so interactive rather than it just being a lot of presentations. The modules beforehand were really helpful, giving a bit of background and a bit of understanding before coming to the day. And in fact, I started thinking about how I could incorporate some of the practice before I even got here today.
Luke from Response also agreed...
Absolutely. I think these are things that we encounter in everyday conversations with clients and anything that enables us to explore and learn, and improve how we communicate, is a good thing.
Elisa, GP Liaison Nurse in the NHS shared...
I was thinking about it in my personal life, the way I deal with anybody, strangers and family members and friends, and I just think it's really useful if you wanna take a deep dive and look inwardly at yourself and at other people and why they might do the things that they do and how you could be a helpful part of their life.
We would be delighted to hear from you to discuss how this training could benefit your organisation.
